Adding your first pair and what "Preparing" means

How to add a pair, what happens during backfill and deep analysis, and how the preparation queue works.

Adding a pair

  1. Open the Dashboard.
  2. Type in the search box labelled Add pair… e.g. SOL, BTCUSDT. It searches Binance, Bybit and MEXC USDT-perpetual symbols as you type.
  3. Pick a result with the arrow keys or the mouse and press Enter. If nothing matches, Enter adds the typed symbol anyway.
  4. A widget appears in the grid and a toast confirms added to watchlist.

Each plan allows a fixed number of pairs (max pairs on your Account page). Adding one more than the plan allows shows a toast with an upgrade link.

Pairs with a green dot in the search results are already prepared on the hosted service: adding one is instant and the toast says added, analysis ready.

What "Preparing" means

A pair that is new to the engine cannot give a conclusion until its history has been downloaded and analysed. During that time the widget and the pair detail page show a Preparing card with the current stage, a percentage, the position in the queue and an estimated time. The same list appears on your Account page under preparing pairs.

The stages run in this order:

Stage What happens Typical duration
queued (position k) Another pair is being prepared first. Preparation runs one pair at a time, so k tells you how many pairs are ahead of yours. depends on the queue
backfill % Candles are downloaded. 5m and larger timeframes go back to 2018-01-01; 1m keeps the last year. The large timeframes finish first and live analysis starts as soon as they are in. 10 to 20 minutes on first add
scanning The pattern engine scans every stored candle on every timeframe and records each pattern with its outcome. a few minutes
statistics Hit rates per pattern, timeframe, scale and regime are computed. under a minute
crash catalog Past crashes are mined from history on four horizons, with the conditions seen before each one. a minute
replaying The consensus engine replays history every 30 minutes since 2018, recording every technique's vote and what price did next. several minutes
searching Technique combinations are searched and kept only if they still beat coin-flip on the last quarter of history. The exit-policy test, crash-short backtest and analog index are built in the same pass. several minutes
done The consensus card, analog forecast and Crash Radar are fully informed.

Note: "Preparing" is only needed once per pair. After that the engine re-trains automatically once a day, and every closed candle is analysed live.

While it prepares

  • The chart streams live prices as soon as the first candles arrive, so you can watch the pair before the analysis is ready.
  • The consensus card shows history not analysed yet, run deep analysis until the replaying and searching stages finish. Any call shown before that is a plain vote average and should not be acted on.
  • The Crash Radar card for the pair shows rules only until crash models are trained. The rule-based score still works.

Shared preparation

In the hosted service, market data and analysis are computed once per pair and shared by everyone who watches it. The operator also prepares the whole catalogue in advance (history back to 2018 and the deep analysis for every USDT perpetual, the majors first), so most pairs are ready instantly: no Preparing card, the consensus card is informed from the first second. The Preparing card appears only for a pair outside the prepared catalogue, for example a brand-new listing. Removing a pair from your watchlist never stops it for anyone else.

Starting and stopping

The toggle at the right of the widget header starts or stops analysis for that pair. Stopped pairs show a paused badge, keep streaming the chart, and raise no signals or alerts. The pair stays prepared, so starting it again is instant.

Tip: if a pair sits at the same stage for a long time, see Troubleshooting before re-queuing it.
