My Positions: tracking the orders you place yourself
Recording a position with "I took this", editing it in place, liquidation alerts, stop and target alerts and the live TP / SL advice.
What a manual position is
Most people place orders in their exchange app, not through the tool. My Positions (sidebar: Positions) lets you record such an order so the tool watches it live: PnL, distance to liquidation, your stop and targets, the consensus turning against you and crash levels on the pair.
Nothing here sends orders. It is a guard, not an executor.
Recording a position
Three ways:
- I took this on a consensus card (LONG, SHORT or LEAN).
- Mark as taken on a signal panel or signal popup.
- + Add position manually at the top of the Positions page.
All open the same form:
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Symbol, Side | Prefilled from the card. |
| Entry price | Exact fill price from the exchange. The live button copies the current price. |
| Leverage, Margin USDT | Leverage set on the exchange and the collateral (isolated margin). PnL percent is measured against the margin. |
| Liq. price | Estimated from side, entry and leverage (isolated margin, 0.5% maintenance rate) until you edit it; marked est. The figure your exchange shows wins: copy it here. auto returns to the estimate. |
| Stop-loss, TP1, TP2 | Prefilled with the plan's tight stop and targets. |
| Exchange, Notes | MEXC, Bybit or other; free text. |
The line under the fields shows the implied quantity, notional and the liquidation distance from entry. Save with Save LONG … or Save SHORT …. From a card the page then navigates to Positions.
The open positions table
Every cell with a dashed underline is editable: click, type, press Enter (or click away) to save, Escape to cancel. Editing entry, leverage or side re-estimates the liquidation price unless you set it yourself, and every change re-arms the alerts.
Columns: entry, live price, PnL % of margin (price move x leverage), PnL $, leverage, margin, liquidation price, Liq. progress bar, SL, TP1, TP2, Advice, exchange, opened, source (consensus, signal or manual), notes and actions. The four tiles above summarise open count, total margin, live PnL and the worst liquidation distance.
The Liq. progress bar shows how far the loss has travelled towards liquidation; the label is the distance in percent of price. At 75% or more the row turns red and pulses, as does the holding badge in the pair's widget header.
Updates arrive over the WebSocket every three seconds; REST polling takes over when the feed is silent (the header says live or polling).
Alerts
Each alert fires once per position until the condition clears:
| Alert | Trigger |
|---|---|
| Position at risk (warning sound) | Loss is 50% of the way to liquidation. |
| LIQUIDATION DANGER (siren) | 75% of the way. Both re-arm once the loss recovers below 40%. |
| Stop-loss level reached | Price crossed your stop. If the exchange stop did not trigger, close manually. |
| Take-profit 1 reached | Suggests partial profit and moving the stop to break-even. |
| Take-profit 2 reached | Full target done. |
| Market turned against your long/short | Consensus now calls the opposite direction with confidence near the threshold. |
| Crash warning/critical while you hold a LONG | Crash level on the pair; the crash popup lists the position. |
| Take-profit suggestion | The live advice differs from your TP1 by more than half an ATR (at most every 30 minutes unless the suggestion moves). |
Popups about a position carry a Your position block and an Open positions page button.
Advice column
Within 30 seconds of the first live tick each open position gets a TP suggestion and, when possible, an SL suggestion with their reasons on hover. Candidates for the target are the median favourable move after correct consensus calls, the nearest strong level ahead (volume node or swing), the measured target of a confirmed pattern on 15m, 1h or 4h in your direction, and the analog median favourable move. When the consensus leans against your position the nearest target is chosen and an against badge shows. The stop suggestion is break-even once you are more than 1 ATR in profit, else beyond the last 15-minute swing, and never tighter than the analog wobble stop. Apply writes the suggestion into TP1 or SL.
Closing and deleting
Close opens a dialog prefilled with the live price; enter the real exit price, pick a reason (manual, stop-loss hit, TP1 hit, TP2 hit, liquidated, other) and click Close position. The result (PnL % of margin and USDT) moves to Closed positions, which keeps a running win rate and total PnL. Delete removes the record without computing a result.
Note: the tool cannot see your exchange account. If you close on the exchange, close the record here too, or the alerts keep watching a position that no longer exists.
Fees, funding and net PnL
Exchanges charge fees and funding on the leveraged notional of a perpetual position, not on your margin. A 20 USDT margin at 50x is a 1,000 USDT position: a 0.02 % taker fee on open and on close costs 0.40 USDT, and a single 0.1 % funding settlement costs 1.00 USDT. This is why a 6 USDT gross profit can become 4.2 USDT on the exchange statement.
The positions table therefore shows four money columns:
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| PnL $ | Gross unrealised profit from the price move alone. |
| Fees | Entry fee already paid plus the expected exit fee, at the rate of the exchange you selected (maker or taker, chosen in the position form as Entry fill / Exit fill). |
| Funding | Funding settled since the position opened, at the exchange's own funding-rate history (MEXC, Bybit and Binance publish different rates). Hover to see the number of settlements, the current rate and the next settlement time with its estimated cost. |
| Net $ | Gross minus fees minus funding: the amount the exchange will actually credit. Hover for the break-even price. |
The fee schedule per exchange is in Settings > Trading > Exchange fees. The defaults are the regular public tiers; if you have a VIP tier or a fee-token discount, enter your own rates as fractions (0.0002 = 0.02 %). Funding is not a setting: the tool fetches it from the exchange for every open position every few minutes.
Tip: the Take position form shows the estimated round-trip fees, the next funding cost and the break-even price before you save, so you can see whether a short-horizon trade can pay for its own costs.
