Re-analyse an open trade

One click re-scores an open trade on fresh data and tells you whether to hold, push the stop out or exit - with how similar past situations ended and when the model looks again.

What it is

Re-analyse asks the Pair Model for its newest reading of the coin, right now, and compares it with the trade you hold. You get a plain verdict - hold, push the stop out or exit - together with the evidence behind it: what the model now expects for each side, how the trade has moved so far, how past trades in the same spot ended, and where the crowd's stops and liquidations sit.

It works on every open trade, on demo, paper and live accounts, whichever model opened the trade.

Where to find it

Trading → pick the account → Open trades → in the Manage column of the trade, click Re-analyse.

How to use it

  1. Click Re-analyse. The dialog scores the coin on the newest closed 5-minute bar with fresh exchange data; this takes a few seconds.
  2. Read the verdict at the top (green = nothing to do, amber = a suggestion is waiting).
  3. Look at the sections below it (explained in the next part).
  4. If there is a suggestion, it has its own box with the backtest behind it and a button: Apply (for a stop move) or Exit now (closes the trade at market).
  5. Nothing changes until you press a button. Refresh runs the analysis again; Close leaves everything as it is.

If you want a different stop or target than the one suggested, use Edit instead; see Close %, Edit, BE and Close.

What the numbers mean

Top row

Figure Meaning
now vs entry Price move since the entry, in the trade's favour (+) or against it (-).
to TP / to SL How far the take-profit and the stop-loss still are from the current price.
TP reached How much of the way to the take-profit the price has come (negative = the other way).

The model - whether it was scored just now or (if the fresh run failed) the last 30-minute reading, and for your side and the opposite side the expected result per trade after fees (EV) and the win chance. A line underneath shows how both sides have changed at each 30-minute reading since the trade opened. If the dialog notes that shorts are currently off, the model is not taking new short calls in the present market.

The trade so far - best so far and worst so far (the furthest it went your way and against you, with the time), the move over the last 60 min, BTC since entry and the last hour's volume against the 24-hour average. In testing the path alone did not tell how a trade would end; the model's new score did, which is why the advice follows the score.

Past trades in the same spot - from the 12-month backtest: among past checks where the model said the same thing and the trade was in the same state (in profit or in loss), how many reached the take-profit, how many hit the stop and how many were still open at 12 hours, how long the winners needed, and how holding compared with exiting at market there, for each half of the year.

Liquidation map - the coin's estimated stop and liquidation piles with your entry, stop and target marked. See Liquidation map, Stop piles and SL past pile.

When will we know? - how long the trade has been open, when the model looks at the coin again, and from when the stop starts tightening and trailing (Pair Model trades, after 12 hours). It also shows how quickly past winners reached their target: the longer a trade takes, the less likely it is to get there.

Limits and caveats

  • Suggestions are based on 12-month hypothetical backtests. They describe what happened on average in similar situations, not what will happen to this trade. See the risk disclosure.
  • Push the stop out gives the trade more room, which means a bigger loss if that wider stop is hit. The stop is never moved past the liquidation price.
  • On a live account, Apply and Exit now act on the exchange (the stop order is replaced, or a reduce-only market order closes the position).
  • If you want this check made for you every 30 minutes, the Pair Model account option re-check: push stop out does it automatically; see Pair Model account options.
  • Re-analyse is information for a decision you make. It never acts on its own.
